services, and their employees are passionate about finding ways for their customers to improve safety and performance while lowering operating costs.Our Client requires a Supplier Development Specialist. The Supplier Development Specialist is responsible for driving exceptional supplier performance for assigned suppliers in assigned regions, through his/her expertise in supplier selection, performance monitoring, supplier development, and part qualification. The SDS will collaborate with our Client's factories, fellow SDS members and other corporate quality and design resources to develop the assigned suppliers. This role includes helping to develop the tools, methods and policies needed to develop a superior performing supplier base. Supplier performance includes, meeting the quality, delivery and value needs of the organization.Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Leads supplier selection, assessments, quality system audits and approval/disqualification of suppliers- Works directly with Suppliers to help them achieve performance goals- Helps to develop and implement a standardized part qualification process (PPAP, FAI)- Provides feedback to design teams and plant tactical purchasing groups regarding suppliers, capabilities, tolerance, specifications, measurement and test methodologies- Assures Corrective and Preventive Action plans are developed and executed at assigned suppliers in compliance with the SCAR process
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree - preferable in a technical field- Master's degree preferred- Green or Black Belt Six Sigma Certification - Preferred- ASQ Certification or similar quality certification - Preferred- Welding Inspector Certification (CWI) - Desirable- Knowledge of NDE processes -Certification preferred- ISO Auditor experience- CAPA system experience- Supplier performance reporting systems and methods
Experience:
- Previous experience in tactical quality management role or supplier quality management- Previous experience in Oil and Gas related industry manufacturing environment.
Key Skills:
- Ability to work with a supplier on requirements, process improvements, and capability studies- Background in six-sigma, LEAN, Root Cause Analysis and related quality management tools- Familiar with ISO 9001 and/or API quality systems- Commodity expertise in castings, fabrications, machining, forgings, metal supply and hydraulics- Familiar with Supplier Qualification, PPAP and FAI processes- Skills in personal computer spreadsheet, word processor and engineering tools- Effective oral and written communication
